xMark works ‘out of the box’ without any plugins at all - however, it does provide code support for the following plugins. If you install them, the code already exists for you - so all you really need to do is install the plugins, activate them and set up any options the plugin developer has given you - - no messing with templates at all.
WordPress Widgets can be found on Automattic’s site. Read xMark’s documentation on how to work with them.
Related Entries gives a listing of posts that are related to the post you are viewing - giving your readers a nice navigational feature to view other posts that are related to the topic at hand. Just grab the plugin from the given URL, follow the installation instructions - activate the plugin and you’re good to go! The Related Posts will show on the individual post page only.
FlickrRSSallows you to pull your Flickr Photo feed into your side bar, like you see done on this site. Read how to apply it to xMark on my documentation page
ShareThis is an awesome social bookmarking plugin by Alex King. Read the documentation page on how to apply it with xMark
Clean Archives makes an archives page with a very pretty chronological listing of the archival history of your site. To use with xMark simply create a blank static page with the title: Archives. Before publishing it, choose the Archive template from the Page Template drop down in the page options. Click Save. Simple. Easy. Clean. I like.
